Hey, I'm Salman.

I trained as an engineer at Imperial College London and spent my first years in aviation and manufacturing, where a system that is nearly right is still wrong. Then I moved into startups. I was Chief Product Officer at EV Lab inside Chalhoub Group, Managing Partner at EVERA, and today I'm Co-Founder and CEO of FUSE, where we electrify fleets at industrial scale. Somewhere in the middle of all that, friends started asking me how to actually start their thing, and I found I could set the whole company up around them in an afternoon. That is the part I enjoy most, so now I do it on purpose: I set up the company, the site, the payments and the systems, then hand you the keys.

Away from work I'm usually looking for the places Dubai hides from itself. There's a Chinese spot in a JLT mall with no Instagram presence and congee that will ruin you for other congee. There's an Ethiopian place in Karama where the regulars look twice when I walk in. There are flamingos at Ras Al Khor, fifteen minutes from Downtown, and most people who live here have no idea. For years I was part of a film club that watched modern classics and argued about them afterwards, and we kept showing up for each other long after it disbanded. I still have friends here from high school, which in this city is unusual enough that people ask about it.
